June E. Sommers, 89, of Center Valley, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2012. She was the widow of Walter Sommers. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Cenia (Druckenmiller) Sterner. June worked for the Bell Telephone Co. as a supervisor in the 1940s. As a homemaker, she also enjoyed crafts, watching baseball and flower gardening. For several years she and her husband were members of the Fearless Fire Co., Allentown where they enjoyed dancing. June was a member of West Side Moravian Church, Bethlehem. She was a volunteer at local food banks and the American Cancer Society. The family extends its gratitude to Sacred Heart Assisted Living and St. Lukes Hospice for the care they provided. She is loved deeply by her family who will treasure the happy memories of her life.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Wanda, wife of Karl Werner of Greenwood, IN, Lori, fiance of Robert Burns, Jr., Johanna, wife of Ronald Heft both of Allentown; grandchildren, Lori White, Marcos Albino, Michelle Albino, Ronald Heft Jr. and Walter Heft; great-granddaughter, Ellie White. June was predeceased by seven siblings.
SERVICES: Monday, June 4th, 10:30 a.m. in Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton Streets, Allentown. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown.
