Ruby Jepsen, 89, of Emmaus, died on Monday, June 4, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. Ruby was the wife of the late Robert Jepsen who died on January 11, 1983, Robert G. Hill who died in 1970, and Elwood Miller who died in 1959. Born in Smithton, MO, she was the daughter of the late Perry D. and Grace (Lee) Hudson. She was an active member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Congregational Church in Emmaus where she sang in the choir and was a speaker for Stonecroft Ministries. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club and the Emmaus Women’s Club. Ruby was the office manager for the former Reidler Knitting Mills in Hazleton, PA, retiring in 1976, and previously for the former Hazleton Bleach and Dye Company. Ruby loved baking and in 1939, representing her home state of Missouri, she won the United States 4H National Cherry Pie Championship.
SURVIVORS: Son, Robert G. Hill, Jr. of Sugarloaf, PA; Daughter, Jerilyn Miller Goldman of Harrisburg; Step-children, Diane Jepsen, Robert Jepsen, Jr. and Joan Jepsen-Burger, and Jan Abrahmson; 13 Grandchildren; 16 Great-grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son, E. Brinton Miller, Jr. and 7 Siblings.
SERVICES: 9:30 AM Saturday, June 9th, St. Matthew’s E.C. Church, 35 N. 5th St., Emmaus, PA. Viewing 7 to 8:30 PM Friday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus and 9 to 9:30 AM Saturday in the church. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery, West Hazleton, PA.
